Gold Medal Nail Art

I love nail polish. I love nail art even more. Recently I've been obsessed, as I'm sure most of the world has been, with watching the 2012 Olympics in London. I've noticed so many amazing examples of patriotic nail art.

The female Olympic athletes from around the world have shown their pride for their countries by polishing their nails in their countries colors.
Here are a few of the best nail designs spotted at the 2012 Olympic games.

Rebecca Adlinton of Great Britain

Amy Oliver of Great Britain

Missy Franklin of the USA

Missy tweeted this photo.

Carolina Colorado of Colombia

Kristina Vogel of Germany

Celine Goberville of France

Stefania Pirozzi of Italy

Miriea Garcia Bel Monte of Spain

Caroline Wozniackiof Denmark

Emily Seebohm of Australia

Becchara Palmer of Australia

Jenny Mensing of Germany

Venus Williams of the USA

Some of the looks were done by the athletes themselves, some were done in nail salons in their home countries, but many of these creative designs were created at the pop-up nail salon in the Olympic Village. Celebrity manicurist Sophy Robson and her "Nail Porn" team created the Union Jack nail look for Great Britain's Rebecca Adlington.
Robyn Gayle of the Canadian soccer team gets her digits done at the pop-up salon.

"Nail Porn" teamed up with P&G to create the temporary salon, which is open to athletes and guests at the Olympic Village in Stratford. They have over 200 different designs to choose from and up to 18 manicurists on hand at any given time. @nailporn

Nail art is a great way for the athletes and their supporters to show their team spirit and pride for their country.

What do you think of the Olympic nail art trend?

Are you a Betty or a Veronica?

I grew up as a total comic book geek and one of my favorites was Archie. I've always seen myself as a little bit of a sweet Betty with a dash of Veronica's sexy mystery and bad girl edge. For all you Betty's and Veronica's out there MAC Cosmetics wants to know, "Are you a Betty or a Veronica?" So far only the logo has been released!
The Archie's Girls limited edition collection is set to launch in Spring 2013. I'm hoping we will see bright, vivid, comic-bookesque colors in lipglass, eye shadows and nail lacquers. I'm sure there will also be an awesome mascara! MAC will kick off the collection during San Diego Comic Con with a special event at their Gaslamp district store with comic book artist and illustrator, Dan Parent of the Archie Comics series, which introduced the world to fictional teenagers Archie, Jughead, Betty and Veronica!
MAC wants to know who you should win Archie’s heart. Tell them by texting “Betty” or “Veronica” to 898622 to support your favorite girl. Fans of the winner will be the first to hear when the collection is available online Spring 2013. Message and data rates may apply.

Robin's Egg Blue and Silver

Robin's Egg blue is my favorite color. Probably because it reminds me of those little boxes with big white ribbons that very special gifts come in. It's such a gorgeous shade of blue-green. When it's paired with silver it's even better but when it's coupled with silver beading...WOW! I saw this manicure by one of my favorite manicure mavens, Anne at Grape Fizz, and almost died!
The Ariel dress by Virgos Lounge looks just like the manicure. I love that it's named Ariel.
As a Disney geek it makes me think of The Little Mermaid ballgown that Ariel wears at Disneyland.

Zac Posen - How I love you!

I am in love with the pre-fall 2012 line from Zac Posen. It is reminiscent of Mad Men and includes the most amazing glamour gowns.

I adore this suit! Who wouldn't feel beautiful and powerful in this?

This makes me think of Sophia Loren. Va-va-va-voom.

That flounce on the hem and those boxy sleeves are so fun.

These two just scream silver screen siren.

I can just see these two lovelies on an awards show red carpet.

And a show-stopping red number.

See more looks from the runway on Vogue and at Zac Posen.
